Himachal Administrative Services (HAS) Exam
The Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC) conducts the state civil services examination for administrative posts in the state government of Himachal Pradesh and the aiding offices of the state administrative machinery. The Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC) invites applications for the HP Administrative Combined Competitive Examination every year. The number of posts varies each year depending upon the number of vacancies available. The number of vacancies includes new posts created, existing vacancies and anticipated vacancies.
Eligibility Criteria:-
A Bachelor’s degree from any recognized university or equivalent educational qualification to apply for HAS exam. The candidate must be a citizen of India and should have the age between 21 To 35 years for applying HAS exam. Age relaxation is given in various categories; the number of attempts for is general candidate’s three, ex-servicemen category candidates are allowed for three more attempts.
As mentioned before the exam consists of two parts The Preliminary or Prelims and The Mains. Only those candidates who have qualified the preliminary exam are eligible to appear for the mains, provided they fulfill the other eligibility criteria for the Mains Examination. The marks obtained by the candidates in the (Preliminary) examination will not be counted for the purpose of the final order of merit. However, marks obtained in the Main written examination as well as in the viva-voce test would determine their final merit for selection.
Preliminary Examination Syllabus:-
It consisting of 2 papers based on objective type questions will be held. The duration of Papers I (General Studies) and II (Aptitude Test) is of two hours each. Both Papers I and Paper II shall be of 200 marks and there shall be 100 multiple choice type questions.
Preliminary Exam Pattern:-
- Paper I Contains General Studies and Paper II Contains Aptitude Test.
- Each paper will consist of objective type question.
- Each question will carry 2 marks.
- There is also negative marking in exam for every wrong answer there is one third negative mark
- Duration of each examination is 2 hour.
The Mains Examination Syllabus:-
- The candidate should specify that which of the optional subject, he or she wants to take. The marks and pattern of the subjects are mentioned above.
